Powerful but very loud!

This weed wacker takes awhile to warm up (a FULL 5 minutes at half choke), but once it does its very powerful. I have used a 25cc Weed Eater and countless electric types (B&D, Weed Eater) and this one is by far the most powerful I have used. Also, I would recommend hearing protection because at full throttle this unit is extremely loud! I WOULD buy again.

Picked up at Menards for $80. Came with 2 spools of string and a small bottle of oil.
I bought the $8 replacement warranty, as I was a little skeptical of the quality.
I brought it home, filled ‘r up, and started wackin!
It’s a nice machine. It runs about an hour on a full tank. It also does not have alot of exhaust like my old Toro.
I have 2 acres and lots of trees and this guy really does the job (so far)
I have only used it once…long term durability may come into play…we’ll see.

I was looking for a cheap unit and didn’t expect much seeing as you get what you pay for.($67.00) This little unit is light, starts easy and has plenty of power. Cut through tall and flat lake shore grass with ease. One tank of gas lasts about an hour even at mostly full throttle. Would have gave it 5 stars if it included a shoulder strap; but again I didn’t pay very much. I made my own out of some rope.

I was looking for an affordable trimmer that is easy to use, this was it. Good buy however all things have a down side and this was the string after the initial roll ran out. All the major departments stores sell single string and this item came with a double so there is now a issue now when it cuts short.

I recently purchased this trimmer after giving up on my battery powered trimmer that never had enough power and the battery finally went dead..I fired up this baby and had power plus, so far I have had no problems.. For the price, this is a great deal in my book…makes my old electric trimmer look pretty sick….

This is not the exact same trimmer that is for sale here so there may be differences, but this might provide insight. First of all be sure to keep your receipt, they won’t even look at it with out a receipt.
I have a yard machine Y780 string trimmer and I am very displeased with the product and the service. After just a few weeks of use the pull start cord failed to engage. I have owned several other trimmers and never had this problem. I contacted the 800 number on the trimmer and they directed me to a very rude repair man that said that is just wear and tear and they won’t fix it anyway. The whole product is poorly desinged: the only thing you should ever have to replace is the cord, which is impossible to get at. The flywheel that engages the starter is plastic. Of all the parts that should be metal this is the one. I might add that I have a Club Cadet lawn tractor that is also made by MTD and I absolutely love it.

Bare bones machine- I will wait to see if it is reliable. Starting procedure is ridiculous but it seems to run well. Packaging was all beat up and taped closed…. appeared to have been opened before. It seems all the E retailers like to pawn off their store returns by mail.

For the money, the trimmer is a good value. It was a little rough at start-up for the first time, but the more it is used, the more smoothly it runs. I bought mine for about $53.00 and got free shipping. It is a refurbished trimmer.
